Hattie Chandler

Soulful ’70s spirit, reimagined for today

Hattie is an independent emerging UK singer-songwriter with a voice that blends soul, country, and the timeless spirit of 70s rock. Currently based along the south coast, she draws inspiration from artists like Stevie Nicks, Barbra Streisand, and Linda Ronstadt, blending these ’70s influences with her own modern sound.

Having toured extensively in the UK and abroad, Hattie is now setting her sights on securing a record deal with a major label through her newly released EP, a setlist featuring lyrical, soft songs alongside highly energetic country-infused tracks.

Hattie’s love of music began at a very young age. One of her fondest memories is of her dad bringing home her very first 45 single, “Anyone Who Had a Heart” by Cilla Black. That record became her first major musical influence at just twelve years old. The music her parents played at home also helped shape her taste and the direction she would later take in her own music.

Singing and vintage fashion often became an escape for Hattie during her school years. She was often bullied for not fitting in, but her individuality and desire to be different, set the foundation for her journey today.

It was her discovery of Fleetwood Mac at the age of 18, that introduced her to the love of her life, Stevie Nicks! Before focusing on her original music, Hattie performed as Stevie Nicks in one of the UK’s most successful Fleetwood Mac tribute bands, even appearing as Stevie on ITV’s Starstruck in 2023.

She also performed in various duos and bands before teaming up with guitarist Stefan Rajic. Their musical chemistry together was instant, and it very quickly became clear they had something special as both a duo and a songwriting team. With their voices blending seamlessly, accompanied by Stefan’s electrifying guitar work, Hattie and Stefan took their music around the world, from their first international gig in Germany to a five-month cruise ship contract that honed their live performance and deepened their connection on stage.

This was where the first notes of Hattie’s original music came to life, shaping what would eventually become her debut album. Back in the UK, the duo teamed up with other musicians, each member adding a new energy and life to the songs. What began as a four-piece then grew into a fully fledged band, complete with keys, strings, and a rich blend of sounds. They rehearsed in a garden shed before debuting the material with a powerful set at Wickham Festival.
